Irene Koch Reflects on the Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference
I attended this leadership conference in 2016, and it was such a wonderful experience. I was about to assume a leadership role at my high school and was nervous about it, but this conference gave me so many tools I would use to succeed in this role and beyond. I had the opportunity to meet students from Dominican high schools around the world and learn about their faith traditions and cultures. I still keep in touch with some of them over social media six years later! Through the integration of various regional traditions and education on different forms of prayer, this conference was one of the coolest embodiments of the phrase “universal church” I had seen at the time. Not only did I grow in my faith, but I grew in my confidence as well to be the person God made me be. Irene Koch Villanova University, ‘22 B.A. in History and Humanities, Minor in Sociology
