DYMUSA continued its tradition of empowering high school students to discover and deepen the preacher within themselves through prayer, study, community and interaction with members of the Dominican Family.

Action Plans by School
"We, the preachers"
Dominican Academy
We, the preachers of Dominican Academy, will preach with our lives by:
Establishing a liturgy team to increase student input and participation in prayer services and masses.
Creating a Dominican Day to focus on, educate about, and celebrate the Dominican charism.
Increasing school wide support for these initiatives by making a presentation to staff and faculty at the beginning of the school year.
Dominican High School
We, the preachers of Dominican High School, will preach with our lives by:
Developing a plan for regular informal faith sharing opportunities for all students, led by preaching team members.
Analyze the freshman retreat to redefine the "rooted" theme in relation to the Dominican Pillars.
Revise the prayer experiences used during freshman retreat.
Edgewood High School
We, the preachers of Edgewood High School, will preach with our lives by:
Using our Letters of Love Club to do pen pals with our Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa.
Partner with our GreenEdge Club to renovate our Virgin Mary Grotto & Labyrinth outside.
Establish a Rosary Club that prays weekly, inviting faculty & the parent community to join us.
Flintridge Sacred Heart
We, the preachers of Flintridge Sacred Heart, will preach with our lives by:
Provide more prayer opportunities for our school community.
More meetings with the sisters and engagement with them.
Improve lunch and learns (keynotes on a different pillar and how its connected to the signs of times leading to the connection of service)
Marian Catholic High School
We, the preachers of Marian Catholic High School, will preach with our lives by:
Serving others with compassion and dignity, especially those on the margins of society, inspired by Catholic Social Teaching and the Dominican sisters' example of walking alongside the poor and voiceless.
Creating spaces in our school community for honest conversations and creative expression, using involvement in sports, clubs, and the arts to reflect on faith, identity, and justice in ways that help us and others find God in all things.
Embodying the spirit of the Dominican saints by studying deeply and staying aware of what is happening in the world today; so we can bring truth, awareness, and action back to our school community.
Mount Saint Dominic
We, the preachers of Mount Saint Dominic, will preach with our lives by:
We would like to bring back prayer stations for retreats.
Adding a Dominican Wall of Fame, where we recognize those who carry out the four pillars.
More interactions with the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell.
Our Lady of the Elms
We, the preachers of Our Lady of the Elms, will preach with our lives by:
Implementing more days service.
Focusing on minimizing our waste, and restoring our recycling program.
Strengthening our community by providing opportunities for classes to interact with one another.
Rosary College Prep
We, the preachers of Rosary College Prep, will preach with our lives by:
Implementing the practice of using intercession boxes throughout our classrooms. This will give our students a chance to express their personal prayer as well as give us preachers the opportunity to effectively pray for our school community.
Additionally, we plan to incorporate more student-led activities in all school retreats. We can do this by pushing the retreats. In order to ensure our students will receive the correct representation of the Dominican pillars & values, we will have meetins among the preachers and students to brainstorm ideas for retreats prior to meeting with adult mentoors. This will enable us to adequately voice our ideas and put them in action.
Our final idea was to bring the tradition of praying in our, "heart language" back to our school community. As Dominican preachers at our school, we have the opportunity to leade all-school morning prayer. We are hoping to incorporate praying in heart language by asking students during Friday morning prayer to pray the Our Father in it. This increases acceptance and spreads the traditions and language our students from different backgrounds and cultures to the wider school community.
Regina Dominican High School
We, the preachers of Regina Dominican High School, will preach with our lives by:
Discussing the pillars in a more practical way on freshman retreat.
Service day at Regina Dominican.
Stronger relationship between Adrian Dominican Sisters and Regina.
Nuns/Sisters sharing their stories at Regina.
Sacred Heart High School
We, the preachers of Sacred Heart High School, will preach with our lives by:
Prayer- Dominican blessing, "May God creator bless us. May God Redeemer heal us, and may God the Holy Spirirt fill us with light. Amen."
Sing the Dominican Blessing = mass, assembly
Service- each sem bonding/service days. Only for Campus Ministry.
San Gabriel Mission High School
We, the preachers of San Gabriel Mission High School, will preach with our lives by:
Through prayer: liturgy: bi-weekly mass with school community & elementary school, student-led, interactive & lively preaching opportunity by students. Monthly Dominican rosary circle school wide or with class.
