College Conference Action Plans

College Preaching in Action Conference

May 19-24 2026, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY

DYMUSA welcomed college students from all over the country to the College Preaching in Action Conference held at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY at the end of May.

Students attended from across the nation - from Aquinas College, Albertus Magnus College, Caldwell University, Dominican University New York, Edgewood College, Molloy University, Siena Heights University, Mount Saint Mary College, Xavier University of Louisiana, Ohio Dominican University, and St. Thomas Aquinas College.

Each school group created an action plan to bring home what they learned from the conference. Some of the items featured in the action plans included

• Hosting a preaching night and including all religions

• Trying to advertise campus ministry to more students

• Increasing visibility

Action Plans by College

"We, the preachers"

Albertus Magnus College

We, the preachers of Albertus Magnus College, will preach with our lives by:

1. Hold sessions one the Dominican traditions and preaching in the Dominican tradition for students back at Albertus.

2. By holding a campus wide campaign to ask Albertus students to share thoughts on how to promote faith, peace, and love.

3. Hold a once a month campus clean up to promote Laudito-csi initiative.

Aquinas College

We, the preachers of Aquinas College, will preach with our lives by:

1. Sharing with the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids about what we learned this week and plan for an increased student engagement with the sisters.

2. We will organize one event per semester to highlight the Dominican tradition and charism.

3. We will find new ways to bring people from different backgrounds at Aquinas College.

Molloy University

We, the preachers of Molloy University will preach with our lives by:

1. Post-it intentions (weekly/more visable)

2. Once a semester with the Sisters of Amityville

3. Monthly rosary

4. Founders Day (Day of Service)

5. Monthly meal making

6. Orientation/Outreach

Ohio Dominican University

We, the preachers of Ohio Dominican University will preach with our lives by:

1. Morning prayer with the campus community

2. Student preaching at evening prayer

3. Living rosary with Dominican sisters and ODU students: once every semester

St. Thomas Aquinas College

We, the preachers of St. Thomas Aquinas College, will preach with our lives by:

1. Continuing to deepen our commitment to the four pillars of the Dominican Order by expanding the reach of the Mission and Ministry Program.

2. Identifying ways to learn more about the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and developing ways to give back to them for all they have done for the college.

3. Creating opportunities for collaboration between the various faith based student groups on campus.
