Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference

June 18, through June 21, 2026 at Mariondale, Ossining, New York

DYMUSA continued its tradition of empowering high school students to discover and deepen the preacher within themselves through prayer, study, community and interaction with members of the Dominican Family.

Action Plans by School

"We, the preachers"

St. Dominic Academy

We, the preachers of St. Dominic Academy, will preach with our lives by:

1. Establish a preacher's club to lead prayer services.

2. Plan more service opportunities with Caldwell Dominican Sisters.

3. Arrange for preachers to give a reflection on Fridays, once a month, for upcoming Sunday Gospel.

Albertus Magnus High School

We, the preachers of Albertus Magnus High School, will preach with our lives by:

1. Creating a display of the history of Albertus Magnus High School and spotlighting the lives of St. Albert the Greatg and our four Dominican "house" saints: Dominic, Lima, Siena, and Aquinas.

2. Promoting the Pillar of Prayer throughout our school by providing intention boxes in various locations and creating a prayer wall on our chapel door for people to post prayers.

3. To incorporate a "Saint of the Month" in our morning prayer and to offer ideas of how we can be a modern version of the particular saint.

Dominican Academy

We, the preachers of Dominican Academy, will preach with our lives by:

1. Giving Dominican Academy preachers opportunities to preach at prayer services.

2. Creating a new style of preaching workshop for the Dominican Academy Preachers.

3. Strengthening and revising the first Dominican Day to make a more interactive event for the student body to learn the Dominican charism.

Lacordaire Academy

We, the preachers of Lacordaire Academy, will preach with our lives by:

1. Applying what we learned by reflecting on a scripture and representing to other people.

2. Organizing a community service opportunity for the upper school to promote Dominican values.

3. Creating a group prayer opportunity where we can all come together.

Mount Saint Dominic Academy

We, the preachers of Mount Saint Dominic Academy, will preach with our lives by:

1. Sharing the Dominican charism with the incoming freshmen as well as their parents to help everyone understand our mission.

2. Create a timeline to display our Dominican heritage from inception to present.

3. Invite Mark Butler to our school to inspire our community to rally against injustices and promote Catholic social teachings.
